Memorial Book for Shun Seint Seint Thet Tant Released

A memorial book has been published in remembrance of Shun Seint Seint Thet Tant, one of the young stars of Myanmar’s Spring Revolution. She courageously took part in the movement, suffered from illnesses she developed during her imprisonment, and passed away not long after her release from prison.
Published by MoeMaKa, the book is being organized and distributed by her father, poet Saw Wai. The book is titled “A Fragrant Flower Plucked by the Demons of War, or Shun Seint Seint Thet Tant.”
Poet Saw Wai said that Shun Seint Seint Thet Tant’s surviving friends plan to use all proceeds from the sale of the book to build a school in her name to support education during Myanmar’s interim period.
The memorial volume includes contributions from her mother, close friends and aunt, as well as Myanmar’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, members of a communal cooking group of political prisoners at Insein Prison, a classmate from Bangkok University, and writers and poets from inside Myanmar, abroad and resistance-held areas.
The book is 82 pages long and includes illustrations and a full-color photo album.
The price is US$10.
